EQUITIES: Global stocks have traded in choppy fashion early Tuesday, with
Monday's gains retraced, but equity indices/futures off session lows.
- Asian stocks closed weaker, with Japan's NIKKEI down 197.73 pts or -0.87% at
22587.01 and the TOPIX down 7.87 pts or -0.5% at 1565.15. China's SHANGHAI
closed down 28.667 pts or -0.83% at 3414.619 and the HANG SENG ended 294.23 pts
lower or -1.14% at 25477.89.
- European equities are on the back foot but off lows, with the German Dax down
207.16 pts or -1.62% at 12592.61, FTSE 100 down 35.86 pts or -0.58% at 6140.28,
CAC 40 down 90.99 pts or -1.8% at 4965.24 and Euro Stoxx 50 down 57.29 pts or
-1.71% at 3292.71.
- Likewise, U.S. futures are off worst levels in choppy trade, with the Dow
Jones mini up 69 pts or +0.27% at 26036, S&P 500 mini up 7.25 pts or +0.23% at
3155.5, NASDAQ mini up 21.5 pts or +0.2% at 10621.25.
