Global Weekly LNG Imports Declined 13%

Global LNG imports declined by 13% on the week to 7.8mn tons in the week 4-10 March, amid lower shipments to China and South Korea according to BNEF.

  • Chinese LNG imports last week declined by 0.37mn tons o 1.41mn tons. South Korea’s imports fell to 1.02mn tons last week, down from 1.37mn tons the week before.
  • NW Europe and Italy imported 1.55mn tons of LNG last week, up by 0.32mn tons on the week, led by higher flows to Belgium and France.
  • Global weekly LNG supply rose by 12% to 8.4mn tons.
  • US LNG exports last week rose by 0.27mn tons to 1.88mn tons. Russian LNG shipments last week grew to 0.77mn tons, up from 0.57mn tons the week before.
