Gorgon LNG Train Offline for About Five Weeks

A production train at Australia’s Gorgon LNG export facility is expected to remain offline for about five weeks, according to Bloomberg sources, after disruption due to a mechanical fault last week.

  • Chevron is working to resume full production at the 15.6mtpa facility after a compressor tripped offline on April 30.
  • The other two production trains are unaffected and are producing at full rates and domestic gas is also unaffected.
  • Chevron is looking to procure cargoes to avoid cancelling deliveries to customers, traders said.
