Government Raises 2024 and 2025 Budget Deficit Targets

The government raised the budget deficit targets for 2024 and 2025 after increasing the target earlier this year and missing last year’s goal, according to official projections published today.

  • 2024 deficit target increased to 2.9% of GDP from 2.5%
  • 2025 deficit target increased to 1.9% of GDP from 1.5%
  • Average CPI is seen at 15% this year, 6% in 2024 and 3% in 2025
  • GDP growth is seen at 1.5% this year, 4% in 2024 and 4.3% in 2025
