Guardian: Denmark Accuses UK Of Breaching Fisheries Deal

Denmark has become the second EU member state to accuse the UK of breaching the fisheries section of the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement according to The Guardian. Story states that proposed UK ban on environmentally-destructive bottom trawling in UK waters of Dogger Bank breaches the deal that runs until end-June 2026 according to Danish fisheries ministry.

  • With the UK already fending off a row with France over fishing in the English Channel, Westminster risks fighting on two fronts on an emotive issue that can dominate national politics despite the small economic contribution the industry provides to the respective nations.
