Guedes Announces Plan to Remove Private Debt Tax for Foreign Investors

  • The Bolsonaro administration is planning to remove taxes for foreigners who invest in Brazilian private debt, Economy Minister Paulo Guedes told reporters in New York on Tuesday.
    • “In the past when the government was the driver, we gave tax exemptions for foreign investors to buy government bonds. Now that the driver is the private investment, we need to give the same tax exemption for the private finance of Brazilian companies,” Guedes said.
