Guedes Reiterates Economic Fundamentals Are Solid

  • Economy Minister Paulo Guedes commented that Brazil's GDP will likely grow 2.1% next year, unlike projections that point to a lower figure, talking at an event held by the Ministry of Economy on Thursday.
    • He added the fiscal deficit will be below 100b reais in 2021, and said The Brazilian Real is still weaker due to political noise, despite economic fundamentals remaining solid.

  • Brazil's govt signalled a series of changes in the court-ordered payments bill known as precatorios, in order to ease senators' reluctance to the text, O Globo newspaper reports without saying how it obtained the information.
