Hang Seng Pares Bulk Of Early Losses

EQUITIES

The Hang Seng Has pared the bulk of Thursday’s early losses after being marked 2% lower at one point, with a bounce in U.S. e-mini futures from session lows helping the recovery. The early weakness in the Hang Seng stemmed from pressure on tech giant Alibaba, which tumbled after the FT pointed to SoftBank offloading a significant chunk of its holdings in the company, while embattled Chinese property developer Sunac tumbled as dealing in the company’s equity resumed after a year-long halt.
