POLAND: Headline CPI Inflation Tops Expectations In January, Revisions Eyed
POLAND
Poland's headline inflation printed at +5.3% Y/Y in January, exceeding Bloomberg median estimate of +5.0% and coming in above the forecast range. Prices rose by 1.0% M/M, topping the median estimate of +0.7%.
- The data will be revised in mid-March, once Statistics Poland announces annual tweaks to the CPI basket and adjusts inflation figures from the beginning of the year.
- The zloty and POLGB yields have edged higher in reaction to the release, as inflation exceeded the psychologically significant +5% Y/Y mark.
