Health Reform Discussions Continue In Congress , Energy Event

  • In Congress, health reform discussions will continue today with articles that led to major disagreements between congressmen and the government. Regarding the labor reform, the government filed the initiative on Wednesday and one of the most significant changes was moving the start of the night shift, which is suggested to go to 7pm from 9pm.
  • Separately, representatives of energy companies, including Celsia, Enel, EPM, GEB and ISA, discuss opportunities for investors at a capital markets event organized by the Colombian stock exchange.
  • An imminent Colombian government tally of the nation’s oil reserves is expected to show a decline, putting pressure on President Gustavo Petro to reconsider his ban on new fossil-fuel contracts. A National Hydrocarbons Agency report scheduled for release later this month is expected to show the reserves shrank last year from the previous assessment of 7.6 years and 8 years, respectively, of crude and natural gas output, analysts said.
