US NATGAS: Henry Hub Rallies Amid Strong Domestic and Export Demand

Henry Hub is gaining ground to reverse a pull back seen late on Friday with support from cold weather boosting domestic demand this month and high LNG export demand.

  • Lower 48 natural gas demand has risen back above normal to 107.25bcf/d, according to Bloomberg. The NOAA 6-14 day forecast shows below normal temperatures are expected across most of the US throughout and with the largest anomalies in northern areas.
  • US domestic natural gas production was holding just below 108bcf/d over the weekend after reaching a record high of 108.36bcf/d on Feb. 7, Bloomberg shows.
  • US LNG export terminal feedgas remains high at 14.96bcf/d today compared to an average of 14.6bcf/d so far in February, Bloomberg shows.
  • Export flows to Mexico are today estimated at 6.1bcf/d, according to Bloomberg.
  • Nymex Henry Hub daily aggregate traded futures was 553k on Feb. 7.
