Highlights JODI August data:

  • Saudi Arabian crude exports fell by 428kbpd month on month in August to 5.58mbpd, the lowest level in 28 months. The kingdom’s crude oil production fell by 95kbpd on the month to 8.92kbpd in August, the lowest in 27 months.
  • China’s crude oil imports in August rose by 2.15mbpd to 12.47mbpd. Total oil products demand in China rose by 1.62mbpd month on month in August to 16.94mbpd. This was up by 3.49mbpd from August 2022 levels.
  • Chinese refinery runs increased by 2.19mbpd on the month to 16.54mbpd in August.
  • India’s crude oil imports in August fell to the lowest level in 10 months to 4.45mbpd.
