Hungary Has Good Chance of Receiving EU Funds by the Summer, Nagy Says

  • Defeating inflation and staying on track to narrow the wealth gap with other EU nations are priority tasks this year, Marton Nagy told a conference on Wednesday as reported by MTI. He added that Hungary has a good chance of receiving EU monies and cohesion funds by the summer, in-line with expectations.
  • Hungarian President Katalin Novak met with her Turkish counterpart Erdogan in Ankara on Wednesday. At a joint press conference after the meeting, Novak said the pair discussed the war in Ukraine, illegal migration, EU and NATO enlargement, energy cooperation and demographic challenges. Erdogan said the talks focused on trade, military, economic and cultural topics.
  • Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto will speak at a foreign policy event organised by the Hungarian Chamber of Trade and Industry today at 0900BST/1000CET. There are no major data releases scheduled for release.
