Hungary Not Intending to Move Away from Russian Gas
NATGAS
Hungary has no plans to move away from Russian gas and is pleased with the current cooperation between the two nations according to Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto Thursday.
- Szijjarto claims that Hungary receiving gas is a physical issue rather than political or ideological.
- Hungary has been receiving 4.5 bcm of gas per year from Russia under a 15-year deal signed in 2021.
- It is the only country in the EU that maintains friendly ties with Russia after the invasion of Ukraine.
