Hungary Ratifies EU Fund, Removing One of the Biggest Obstacles

  • Hungary's parliament unanimously ratified the European Union's largest-ever stimulus package,
  • removing one of the obstacles to the disbursement of 800 billion euros ($980 billion) in pandemic recovery funds across the bloc.
  • Opposition members joined PM Orban's lawmakers on Wednesday to approve the stimulus plan.
  • Romania is also scheduled to approve the recovery fund later on Wednesday.
  • All EU member states must ratify the stimulus package before disbursements can be made
