Hungary Seek Increased Supply From Russia

NATURAL GAS

Hungary will continue talks to boost natural gas imports from Russia, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Monday.

  • Hungary is looking for increased supplies from Gazprom from September.
  • Szijjarto met with Sergei Lavrov in Moscow last month seeking for an increase of 0.7bcm of gas in addition to an existing long term deal.
  • The existing 15 year deal signed last year is for 3.5bcm per year via Bulgaria and Serbia and 1bcm via Austria.
  • Hungary aim to come to an agreement with Gazprom in the coming days.
