Imacec Economic Activity Data Due

  • USDCLP spent the entirety of Wednesday's session reversing the move seen late Tuesday on the announcement from Hacienda of their planned increase in dollar supply for July. Dollar indices grinding higher aided USDCLP to rally roughly 1% back to just shy of the 735 mark.
  • Today, Chile's will release May Imacec economic activity indicator data:
    • 1330BST/0830ET: May Economic Activity (est. 1.3% m/m, prior -1.4%)
    • 1330BST/0830ET: May Economic Activity (est. 17.5% y/y, prior 14.1%)
  • Announced late yesterday, Chile Treasury sold CLP1.5t (~$2.04b) in Social BTP 2028s at a yield of 4.6%, according to a press release.
    • Demand was $3.6b with foreign investors buying 47%.
    • With this issuance Treasury has sold $14.3b in bonds this year; $7.76b in foreign currency and $6.58b in local currency.
