India Crude Imports and Refinery Runs Drop In Feb

India’s crude imports declined in February and the refineries crude processing rate fell back from the highest in five years seen in January according to the oil ministry Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell.

  • Crude imports fell -4.5% on the month to 19.1m tons in February but were +8.5% higher year on year.
  • Refined product imports fell -13% m/m to 3.5m tons but up +9.4% y/y
  • Refined product exports increased +13% m/m to 5.1m tons and up +4.1% y/y
  • Refinery runs declined -8.8% m/m to 20.8m tons but still up +2% y/y
