India pulled in Russian crude at a nine-month in April after Sovcomflot flows resumed according to LSEG figures.

  • In April, Indian refiners imported nearly 1.8 mn bpd of Russian oil, up about 8.2% m/m. It expanded Russia's share in India to about 38% in April from 32% in the previous month.
  • Overall, India imported 4.8 mn bpd of oil in April, down 6.5% m/m.
  • Russia was the biggest supplier followed by Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
  • Indian refiners only briefly stopped importing oil carried on Sovcomflot vessels as sanctions tightened.
