Indonesia to Raise LNG Exports in 2024 Amid Increased Investment

Indonesia expects to increase LNG exports to 167-170 cargoes in 2024 with output at 250 cargoes according to oil and gas regulator known as SKK Migas via Bloomberg.

  • LNG cargo exports were 139.5 cargoes in 2023 with 35-36 spot export sales.
  • The country is aiming for $17.7b in upstream oil and gas investment in 2024 up from $13.7b last year which was limited by issues including availability of rigs and workers.
  • A total of 15 projects plan to come onstream in 2024, including Medco’s Forel Bronang (June), ExxonMobil’s Banyu Urip Infill Clastic (July), Premier Oil’s AFCP (May).
