Industrial Output and Unemployment Data Due At Top Of The Hour

  • The National Statistics Institute will report unemployment rate and industrial production data for March at 1400BST/0900ET. The data may shed light on estimates for economic activity (Imacec), which the Central Bank are scheduled to release next Tuesday.
  • Short-term parameters for USDCLP appear well defined. A stronger resumption of gains would refocus attention on key short-term resistance at 837.15, the Mar 17 high. A break of this level would be a bullish development. On the downside, the key bear trigger lies at 776.28, the Feb 3 low.

    • Manufacturing production for March. Est. -5%, previous -3.6%
    • Industrial production March. Est. -3.5%, prior 1.1%
    • Commercial activity March. No est., previous -3.4%
    • March retail sales. Est. -9.2%, previous -9.2%
    • Additionally, BCCh President, Rosanna Costa, is due to present the March IPoM at an event organized by Banchile Inversiones.
