- M/M and Y/Y IP both forecast to fall further in Apr after hitting a record low
in Mar 
- M/M output trended down in 2018 and 2019 before it showed a promising start in
2020, however, the pandemic cleared hopes of a rebound in the near term. 
- Recently released factory orders plunged by 25.8% m/m in Apr after falling by
15.0% in Mar. 
- The truck toll mileage index, which shows a strong connection to IP in
Germany, fell to a new series low of 10.9% in Apr, surpassing declines seen
during the global financial crisis. 
- The Ifo business climate ticked up in May after plunging in Apr, mainly driven
by an uptick in expectations while the current conditions fell further. 
- Similarly, the ZEW expectations index showed a second successive gain in May,
while current conditions deteriorated.
