- Feb industrial production is expected to rise 0.4% by both BBG and MNI surveys
after a 0.6% Jan decline
- MNI analysis shows the potential for another overestimate in the month.
- Early signs for manufacturing IP were not positive, with only small mfg
payrolls gain, a shorter factory workweek, and a sharp decline in the
manufacturing ISM index.
- Utilities production and mining production will drive the increase due to more
seasonable weather in the month.
- Capacity utilization is expected to tick up to 78.5% by both BBG and MNI after
dipping to 78.2% in Jan.
