Initial LNG Deal Between Abu Dhabi and Germany Small But More Expected

LNG

German Chancellor Olaf Scholtz visited the Middle East over the weekend to try and negotiate energy contracts as the country tries to diversify away from Russian flows.

  • The trip resulted in a single LNG cargo for German utility RWE from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) being signed for the end of December. ADNOC has also reserved an unspecified number of LNG cargoes for Germany in 2023.

  • ADNOC will also provide 250,000 tonnes of diesel a month to German firm Hoyer.
