Iran to Lift Gasoline Capacity in Next Years

Iran is planning to lift its gasoline refining capacity over the coming years by upgrading existing refineries and building new capacity according to Argus.

  • Iran plans to upgrade nine of its refineries, NIORDC’s managing director Jalil Salari said.
  • The first upgrades will be concluded this year with the upgrade of the Abadan refinery in Khuzestan.
  • This is in addition to two new projects including a fourth 120kbpd Persian Gulf Star phase and a 60kbpd Siraf refinery.
  • This will lift Iran’s domestic gasoline capacity to 30mn l/d and gasoil capacity by 16mn l/d by the end of March 2027.
