OIL

Iraq’s crude exports rose for a second month in May, despite pledges to compensate for overproduction beyond its OPEC+ targets, according to Bloomberg.

  • Total observed crude exports rose to 3.46m b/d in May, compared to 3.42m b/d in April.
  • Iraq is still trying to meet its promises to cut production to levels promised as part of an OPEC+ voluntary deal but continues to overproduce.
  • All the exports came from Basra, with exports via pipeline to Ceyhan remaining closed.
