Iraq Ready to Resume Oil Exports: PM

Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in a meeting with Turkish energy minister expressed the government's readiness to find a solution to resume oil exports from Iraq’s northern fields to the Turkish port of Ceyhan according to a statement from the Iraqi PM's office.

  • He also confirmed Iraq's adoption of fair solutions "within the framework of the Constitution in dealing with various issues for neighboring countries", the statement added.
  • The Kurdish PM Masrour Barzani this week played down the prospect of an imminent restart of crude exports via Ceyhan due to outstanding agreements with international oil companies operating in the region.
