Israel-Palestine News: Airstrikes Continue, Question Marks Over Ceasefire Timing

  • Airstrikes continued early this morning despite increasing international pressure on both parties and reports that an "imminent" cease-fire could come as early as Friday.
    • Comes after Biden advised Netanyahu to de-escalate yesterday. Mixed reports about the possibility of a ceasefire from as early as this evening or into the weekend
    • But things seem to be moving towards a de-escalating in the next few days.
  • Israeli military said it struck at least four homes of Hamas commanders, targeting "military infrastructure," as well as a weapons storage unit at the home of a Hamas fighter in Gaza City.
  • Military expert says Hamas has suffered significant losses during this round of fighting. "Hamas lost in every strategic calculation:
  • Many of their tunnels in the Strip are destroyed and their maritime forces are also paralyzed,"
  • UN says at least 75,000 Palestinians have been displaced by the conflict.
