DOLLAR-YEN: It has been a quiet start to the new trading week, the dollar
holding a fairly narrow Y110.65 to Y110.84 range. There is no significant data
or scheduled events to impact trading, the early focus will be on the opening of
Japanese equities, Nikkei futures closed in New York +0.5%. Traders have made
mention of a large option expiry for today at Y110.75-80($1.74bn), that may act
to contain the near-term range. Initial resistance lies at Y111.05 (Aug5 high),
while support is found at Y110.59 (38.2% fib Y109.85-Y111.05). Dollar-yen is
changing hands at Y110.76.
