DOLLAR-YEN: It has been a quiet start with no significant news over the weekend,
the dollar confined to a narrow Y112.64-69 range. Japan's Trade Balance for
November provides a modest event risk for the session, the consensus is for a
deficit of Y40 billion. Focus will be on the Nikkei following healthy gains seen
on Wall St Friday, Nikkei futures were last +0.7%. Large option expiries for
today are seen at Y112.00($902mn) and Y112.25-30($1.74bn). Resistance lies at
Y112.86/89, the area holds 55-dma and 50% fib Y113.75-Y112.03 decline, while
Friday's base at Y112.03 provides initial support.
