US TSYS: It has been a sedate session for the space, with modest risk-on flows
elsewhere applying minimal pressure to Tsys early on, before the Nikkei 225
moved back into negative territory, lending some support.
- The space had no notable reaction to the latest BoJ MonPol decision, which saw
the Bank cut its inflation outlook, trim its FY18 GDP exp. and mark up its FY19
& FY20 GDP exp.
- Yields sit marginally higher in cash trade.
- Bigger picture themes remain in play i.e. the Sino-U.S. trade war & the U.S.
gov't shutdown. On the former, top Chinese trade envoy Liu He is still set to
visit Washington next week. On the latter, two financing bills will be voted on
in the Senate Thursday, one from each side of the aisle, with neither expected
to pass.
- The Fed remains in blackout ahead of next week's MonPol decision.
- The Eurodollar strip trades 0.5 to 2.0 ticks lower across the whites and reds.
- T-Notes last 121.15, U.S. 10-Year cash Tsy yields last 2.743%.
