US TSY/RECAP
US TSY/RECAP: It was a quiet start to the week, although long end support
evaporated late on.
- Eyes are firmly fixed on Wednesday's FOMC MonPol decision with a 25bp hike
expected (some would say its a given).
- 1-, 3- and 6-Month bill auctions alongside limited second tier data provided
little in the way of US economic catalysts on Monday.
- Tsys opened near late overnight lows, trailing the weaker Bund.
- The space had rebounded by mid-NY morning, extending the top end of the range
into midday as equities fell sharply, aided by large block buys through the
offer.
- Swap spreads were tighter by the close, with the short end leading the move,
as a pick up in swappable supply weighed on spreads.
- T-Notes last 120.09+, US 10-Year yield last 2.855%.
