Italian October Oil Products Sales Lagged Pre-Covid Levels Again

Italian oil product sales totalled 4.51mn tons in October, lagging pre-Covid levels for the eleventh straight month, data from Italy’s Ministry of Environment and Energy showed.

  • Gasoline sales stood at 706k tons in October, the only product above 2019 levels of 649k tons and by 3.8% from 2022 levels.
  • Transport diesel sales stood at 2.01mn tons in October, up by 0.9% from last year’s levels but below 2019 levels of 2.13mn tons.
  • Gasoil/Diesel sales stood at 2.31mn tons, below 2.5mn tons in 2019 but up by 2.6% year on year.
  • Jet fuel sales stood at 432k tons last months, 26% higher on the year but below 2019 levels of 440k tons.
