Italy Confident of 90% Gas Storage Target

Italy’s Prime Minister Mario Draghi has said this week, he is confident of filling Italian gas storage to 90% of its capacity by November.

  • Italy is lending state-owned firm GSE 4 billion euros to buy gas stockpiles ahead of winter as the country struggles to cut its dependence on Russia. It is not clear where the gas will be bought from.
  • Italian gas storage is at 58% of capacity at present.
