Ivory Coast Expects Threefold Oil Output Increase by 2027: Reuters

The Ivory Coast expects a more than threefold increase in its oil output by 2027 amid recent discoveries in its Baleine and Calao fields, according to Reuters.

  • Output is forecast to rise by 200k b/d by 2027, compared to the current 60k b/d.
  • The Ivory Coast hopes to become a major regional oil and gas producer in the future.
  • The Baleine field was discovered by ENI in 2021 and has estimated reserves of 2.5 billion bbl of oil and 3.3 Tcf of gas.
  • The Calao discovery was announced in March and could have reserves from 1-1.5 billion bbl.
