DOLLAR-YEN: Japanese markets were closed for Health Sports Day which made for
thinner than usual Monday trade in Asia. USD/JPY initially eased to a low of
Y113.64 before it recovered on general USD buoyancy, provided by firm UST
yields, to Y113.94, with trade holding above Y113.80 through to Europe. Early
supply in Europe allowed rate to probe below to Y113.78 though without any major
conviction. Rate currently trades around Y113.82. US and Canadian markets closed
today as well which is expected to make for continued thin markets. However, UST
yields to continue providing the main drive along with risk outlook.
