Japanese nuclear power forecast to dip according to ICIS – putting further pressure on Asian gas markets.

  • Japanese nuclear output was up in August but is expected a bit lower in the next three months.
  • This is mainly because Kyushu Electric's 1180MW Genkai 4 went offline on 12 September for completion of anti-terrorism facilities. Genkai 3 and Kansai Electric's Ohi 3 are also offline for the same reason. The three reactors are scheduled to return one by one in December, January and February, at which point all ten reactors in operation will have completed facilities.
