Jet Fuel Demand Continues Decline: BNEF

Jet fuel demand is to continue its decline in the week to Oct. 23, led by a fall in Asia, according to BNEF.

  • Jet fuel demand is set to be 6.31m b/d, down 1.5% on the week. Demand from domestic and international flights is set to fall by 2.7% and 0.8% on the week, respectively.
  • Demand in Asia is set to fall by 3.5%, equivalent to a fall of 62.8k b/d.
  • However, domestic flights in China are set to increase by 38.2% over the next four weeks, according to current schedules, BNEF said. However, it cautioned that many flights are cancelled last-minute in China.
