JET FUEL: Global Airline Passenger Capacity Falls 0.65% on Week: OAG

Global airline passenger capacity is set to decline to 115.7m seats in the seven days commencing from Oct. 14, OAG said.

  • This represents a fall of 0.65% on the previous week.                                 
  • This week's actual capacity lags the previous forward schedule's estimate by 0.82m seats.                                   
  • Domestic capacity is down 0.78% on the week to 68.07m seats.                                          
  • Meanwhile, international capacity is down 0.47% on the week to 47.63m seats.          
  • Global capacity in October will be 514m seats, up 5.8% on the year, led by an increase in North Asia.
  • Western Europe records the second highest growth in seats during October, up 4.2%.
