YEN
YEN: JPY has experienced modest demand in early dealing. A report in the Nikkei
suggested that Japanese PM Abe knew of the Moritomo document doctoring days
before his public admission, although JPY was unreactive to the headlines, while
Japanese Economy Minister Motegi noted that the government will closely watch
the JPY (although this was a known as opposed to anything new).
- JGBs ticked higher at the open, which probably added to the case for JPY
demand.
- There have also been reports from CNN noting that new satellite imagery
examined by Western experts suggests North Korea has begun preliminary testing
of one of its nuclear reactors at the Yongbyon research facility. Markets have
not reacted to this story.
- USDJPY now trades off of session lows, last ~106.30.
