Kazakhstan Output Falls Again in September

Kazakhstan’s crude and condensate production fell to 5.75m tons (1.4mbpd) in September according to Bloomberg

  • Output is down by 55kbpd from 1.45mbpd in August and compared to over 1.8mbpd at the start of the year. Monthly average production was the lowest since August 2016
  • The country has struggled with gas leak problems at Kashagan, planned work at Karachaganak and the outage of two of the three CPC moorings
  • Kazakhstan’s energy minister expects Kashagan to resume full output on Oct 20 and all CPC moorings to be operational by Oct 15.
  • The September crude production, excluding condensate, is estimated at 1.14mbpd, compared to an OPEC target for the month of 1.71mbpd.
