Kazakhstan To Stop Natural Gas Exports Next Winter

Kazakhstan plans to stop natural gas exports next winter to ensure domestic supplies, a senior executive at QazaqGaz said.

  • Kazakhstan exports natural gas to Russia and China. It decreased exports to 4.6bcm last year, from 7.2bcm the previous year, on growing domestic demand.
  • The country produced 53.3bcm of gas last year, 3.1% above the planned output level according to the Energy Minister Bulat Akchulakov.
