NZD

Markets in New Zealand are shut for the Anzac Day, which may thin out kiwi liquidity today. NZD/USD trades flat at $0.7197. The rate has recouped its initial losses after slipping to $0.7179 in early trade.

  • Bulls look for a clearance of Apr 20 high of $0.7230 before setting their sights on the 61.8% recovery of the Feb 25 - Mar 25 slide/Mar 18 high at $0.7266/69. Conversely, losses past Apr 22 low of $0.7146 would draw attention to Apr 19 low of $0.7122.
  • Stats NZ will release Mar trade data on Thursday, ahead of the publication of final ANZ Business Confidence. ANZ Consumer Confidence survey comes out on Friday.
