Kremlin: No Call w/UK PM Today, Paper Sent To US Not On Security

The Kremlin has confirmed that following the cancellation of yesterday's phone call between President Vladimir Putin and UK PM Boris Johnson, the call would not be rearranged for today. There is the prospect, though, that the call could be rearranged in the near future.

  • Comes as Johnson visits Ukraine to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky. UK gov't announced the provision of an additional GBP88mn in aid to Ukraine yesterday.
  • Kremlin also states that the Russian gov't has sent a paper to the US, but that it is not in relation to another exchange of papers on security guarantees. Spox Dimitry Peskov stated that he could not rule out Putin responding to US security offers at a press conference alongside Hungarian PM Viktor Orban later today.
