Kremlin: We Hope EU Does Not Link Ties To Navalny Case, Would Be Foolish

The Kremlin has issued a comment on the Navalny case, saying that it hopes the EU does not link its ties to Russia to the case, arguing that such a thing would be 'foolish'.

  • Maria Zakharova, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, issues a comment on Facebook saying that the presence of around 20 Western diplomats at the Navalny court hearing "Isn't just meddling in the internal affairs of a sovereign state, but the self-incrimination of the west's unsightly and illegal attempts to contain Russia"
  • Dimitry Peskov, President Putin's spokesman says that by attending court, Western diplomats are "attempting to put pressure on an independent court".
