Kremlin-We Will Take Measures To Prevent 'Border Incursions'

The Kremlin has stated that Russia will take measures to prevent further 'border incursions'. Comes after an event on 2 March in the Bryansk region, bordering Ukraine to the south, in which Ukraine-backed Russian nationalists allegedly fired at civilians. Ukraine called the event a false 'provocation'.

  • Kremlin spox Dmitri Peskov confirms that the Security Council meeting convened by President Vladimir Putin for today, will be held behind closed doors 'as usual'. Putin called yesterday's incident a 'terrorist attack'.
  • The 'Russian Volunteer Corps', a group of Russian nationalists opposed to Putin that have decided to back the Ukrainian cause have claimed responsibility for the incursion according to the NYT. This would mark the first ground incursion into Russia-proper by Ukraine-backed forces, with all attacks on Russian territory coming via drones or missiles so far.
