Kuwaiti Oil Exports Tick Higher in April

OIL

Crude flows from Kuwait jumped 12% to about 1.95m b/d in April from a revised 1.74m b/d in March, according to Bloomberg tanker tracking.

  • March’s pace was the lowest since January 2021.
  • Shipments to Kuwait’s biggest-buyer China in April jumped by 97k b/d, or 23% m-o-m, to at least 517k b/d.
  • Kuwait’s crude shipments may be constrained in coming months after OPEC+ announced in early April that it would make voluntary reduction cuts which will hit Kuwait by 128k b/d until the end of the year.
