Labour Gov to Support Onshore Wind

The new Labour government is planning an immediate end to the ban on onshore wind projects, new Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, said.

  • “We will also go further and consult on bringing onshore wind back into the nationally significant infrastructure projects regime meaning decisions on large developments will be taken nationally, not locally,” Reeves added.
  • Labour will also focus on prioritizing energy projects that are already in the system, she said.
  • The new Chancellor has not mentioned the increase in the budget for this year’s CfD auction as demanded by several lobby groups including RenewablesUK.
