- The employment rate edged lower in Aug, falling to 75.9% which is the lowest
level since Dec 2018 
- Avg. weekly earnings incl and excl bonuses ticked down by 0.1pp in August to
3.8% - both indicators are projected to remain at their Aug levels in Sep. 
- Fwd-looking surveys paint a muted picture: 
- The services PMI recorded another fall in the workforce in Oct which was the
fifth in 2019, mainly due to fewer incoming new orders and falling backlogs. 
- Meanwhile, the Oct KPMG/REC UK Jobs report shows a fall in permanent staff
appointments and a decline of vacancies to a 93-month low.
