Last Two MPC Spots Filled

POLAND
  • Late yesterday the lower house of parliament confirmed the appointment of Iwona Duda (former PKO CEO) and MP Gabriela Maslowska to the NBP’s MPC, alongside expectations.
  • Minutes are due from the NBP later today, however the minutes will cover the discussions from the August rate-setting meeting – not for the unchanged decision earlier in the week. As such, market focus will likely remain on the interpretations of yesterday’s Glapinski press conference, at which he outlined the MPC’s view that they’ve done enough on inflation from a monetary policy perspective, with economic weakness ahead likely to drag down prices.
  • No major data releases from Poland due Friday, with official reserves data the only release scheduled.
